Your Social Media Sucks!!!
Imagine walking up to a stranger and immediately dropping to one knee, ring in hand, and proposing marriage. What do you think their reaction would be? Shock? Disgust? A sudden urge to sprint in the opposite direction?
Of course, no sane person does this. You don’t propose to someone the second you meet them. You don’t demand love before earning trust. Yet, businesses do this every single day on social media.
They create an account, blast out “BUY NOW!” posts, flood feeds with shameless self-promotion, and then act shocked—even offended—when nobody cares. They blame the algorithm, the audience, or the platform itself, refusing to accept the truth:
Your social media sucks because you treat it like a megaphone instead of a conversation.
You forget it’s called SOCIAL media, not SELLING media. It’s not a magic sales machine that spits out cash just because you posted. It’s not a one-way street where you shout into the void while your audience tunes you out.
Here’s why you’re failing:
-
You don’t engage, you just broadcast.
-
You don’t listen, you just talk.
-
You don’t build trust, you just demand sales.
-
You don’t add value, you just take up space.
Social media works when you treat it like a relationship—not a transaction. You wouldn’t propose on a first date, so why ask for a sale before earning trust?
How to Fix It:
✔ Be SOCIAL. Talk with your audience, not at them.
✔ Provide value first. Help, educate, entertain—then sell.
✔ Build trust. Show up consistently, be authentic, and prove you care.
✔ Listen more than you speak. Social media is a dialogue, not a monologue.
Stop treating your audience like ATMs. Start treating them like people. Because until you do, your social media will keep sucking—and it’s nobody’s fault but yours.
